In the course of the popular BBC series, Love Forty, Walter Love has met and talked with many people from all over Ulster about the good old days, as well as the not quite so good old days, and their reminiscences of times gone by have struck chords with listeners everywhere.

In this book Walter revisits eight of these men and women to find out more about them and to share more of their experiences. Their recollections range from stories about wartime to life in the Fountain district of Londonderry and in the city's shirt factories, and from Belfast in the tram era to the daily round, customs and 'good crack' of the Ulster countryside.
